WEEK OF MAY 27TH
We will meet on Tuesday and Thursday this week. I know it's a weird schedule but hopefully you can make one or both meetings. All teams are continuing to perfect their chassis designs and build intake systems. With 3 weeks left (and limited parts left), we will try to get as much done as we can. I do not want to order more parts because VEX is re-doing their packaging of certain parts. If we need 1 small part, we won't have to pay $80 for an extension pack with a lot of parts we don't need just to get the 1 part we do need. It will be much cheaper if we wait.
Our goal these next three weeks is to have all chassis frames completely done and half of the intake systems. All teams have 2 intake systems so if we can get 1 of the two completed, it will help when we come back in the fall.
WORLD TOURNAMENT RECAP
A memorable robotics season came to a close in California. The Triangle Robotics team competed against teams from the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, South Korea, and Australia. Out of 61 teams, the Tigers finished 30th in the overall standings, 19th in robot skills, and 7th in programming. It was an outstanding performance. The team would like to thank all of the sponsors who helped make this trip possible. They would also like to thank the school, classes, students, and teachers, who sent them cards, notes, and those that followed them online. This was an event that the entire community took a part in.

2014-2015 ROBOTICS CLUB ROSTER
Congratulations to the following students on being selected for the 2014-2015 Triangle Robotics Club. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, March 19th after school in the computer lab. Students can be dismissed with car riders and walkers and report to the lab. Pickup will be outside of the front door at 4:30 (you'll notice a line forming around 4:15). You are welcome to wait in your cars and we will walk everyone out. We will meet every Monday and Wednesday until school is over and will resume in the fall. This is a GREAT group of kids and I am excited to see the great things they will accomplish!
Reagan W. (yes we have 3 Reagan's and 2 Reagan W's)!
On Saturday, 4 Triangle Robotics teams competed in the Virginia VEX State Robotics Tournament in Richmond. Elementary and Middle School teams from around the state competed for 5 state championships in various categories. Team A whose members include Katie, Haynes, Tiffany, Gavin, and Adriana won the State Programming Championship for scoring the highest in that category.
They were the only elementary team to win one of the state championship awards. The other four championships went to middle school teams from other parts of the state. This accomplishment has qualified them to compete in the 2014 World Robotics Tournament in California in April. These 5 students will represent the entire Triangle community and play with the best in the world. If you would like more information on how you or your organization can sponsor or help with this trip, please email Mr. Osweiler at firstname.lastname@example.org . Congrats Tigers!
In other divisions, Bull Run Middle School and Woodbridge High School were the other schools from our county that qualified a team(s) for the World Tournament.
